ASFİYE
Asfiye is a traditional motor-sailing yacht known in
Turkish as a Gulet. These are the characteristic wooden
sailing schooners indigenous to the Eastern
Mediterranean. Constructed mainly in the shipyards of Bodrum, Bozburun and Marmaris, they were used in the
past as fishing, sponge diving and cargo vessels. Today
they no longer serve such utilitarian purposes and are
hand built and fitted to provide a venue for a truly
luxurious yachting vacation.
The traditional design
features a distinctive elongated bow and rounded stern.
