Dalyan and Kaunos
 

West of Göcek and the Dalaman airport is the Ekincik region. From here you can explore the ancient city of Kaunos as well as the modern day town of Dalyan. From the yacht you will board a low draft river boat and travelup the sawgrass delta of the Dalyan River.

Founded in the 9thcentury BC, Caunos was once an important Carian port city sitting on the frontier between Caria and Lycia. There is a 2ndcentury BC theater, the remains of four temples, and an extensive Roman bath complex. Your boat will then take you further upriver to Dalyan where you can explore the town center and view the rock cut tombs that watch over the town from the cliffs across the river.
